Killington Mountain School, a school consistently ranked among the best five-month ski academies in the country, will host its 24th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 24 at Green Mountain National Golf Course in Killington. Monies raised will help to support the school’s Athletic Fund, which ensures that KMS student-athletes have the resources and facilities they need and deserve to complement their outstanding work ethic and drive to perform their best.
The scramble format tournament will be held at the Green Mountain National Golf Course, voted Vermont’s number one public golf course by Golf Digest. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and play begins with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Teams of four are requested and singles will fill incomplete teams. Players receive an 18-hole round of golf, cart, goodie bag, barbecue lunch, prizes, and a cocktail reception and awards ceremony. The cost is $145/person.
“Players really have the opportunity to make a difference in an athlete’s life by participating,” said Tao Smith, head of school at KMS. “The KMS Athletic Fund allows us to provide with the means to invest in the best equipment and infrastructure needed to help these student-athletes succeed. Money donated to the fund directly impacts the lives of these up-and-coming athletes. We are grateful for the families, friends, alumni, and local business who come out to the tournament each year to show their support for our program. The tournament has become a great fall classic.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available as well, ranging from $300 – $5,000. For more information about what is included in the various levels of sponsorship, visit www.killingtonmountainschool.org/golf.
