Olympic host resort, Whistler Blackcomb, announces Early Bird Season Pass sale

Ever wanted to carve down the same alpine ski slopes featured during the 2010 Winter Olympics? Whistler Blackcomb is giving you that chance this season as the Olympic host resort will open the Men’s and Women’s Alpine Skiing Courses for skiing and snowboarding all winter long. Even better though, doing so won’t require breaking the bank – Early Bird Unlimited Season Passes are now on sale starting today, August 30.

After last year’s record-breaking winter and a memorable summer, powder revelers can purchase the Early Bird passes for  $1,349, a saving of $350, until October 11. As an added bonus, Unlimited Season Passholders get unlimited access to the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola year-round, winter and summer.

“This season, guests will be able to take full advantage of their season pass all the way from November to May,” says Stuart Rempel, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Whistler Blackcomb. “After last season’s epic snowfall and hosting the world’s biggest party, there is a huge pent up demand for skiing and riding for the upcoming winter. The season pass gives guests the freedom to really maximize their time on the slopes throughout the winter season.”

Last winter, Whistler Blackcomb welcomed consistent snowfall throughout the winter months that made 2009-2010 the second snowiest season on record with 587 inches, and November 2009 earned the title of being the snowiest month on record with 220 inches of snowfall. Even if the resort doesn’t come close to matching those tallies, a recent $17.5 million investment in snowmaking infrastructure will surely compliment Mother Nature’s already stellar work.

Factor in the new and improved Sea to Sky Highway, which shortens the drive between Vancouver and Whistler, and the resort boasting 8,171 acres of skiable terrain (the most in North America) during one of the longest seasons in North America; the Early Bird Season Pass purchase is the obvious choice.

Unlimited Season Pass Holder Benefits Include:
· 20% discount at mountaintop restaurants: Roundhouse Lodge, Rendezvous and Glacier Creek Lodge
· 20% discount at Whistler Blackcomb retail stores and ski/board rental shops
· $50 off Snow School (daily or multi-day lessons)
· $100 off Whistler Heli-Skiing
· 2-for-1 Fresh Tracks Breakfast tickets, until December 24, 2010
· Free summer sightseeing for the 2011 summer season
** Go online for full details on these and other benefits.

Unlimited Adult and Senior Season Pass Holders also receive the added bonus of being able to purchase a $500 Whistler Blackcomb gift card for just $399 and three additional lift tickets for only $139 (averaging out to $47 per ticket).

Whistler Blackcomb has scheduled ski and snowboard operations to kick off on November 25, 2010, but could open sooner given an epic early-season such as last year. To purchase your pass check out www.whistlerblackcomb.com/early or call 1-866-218-9687.
