Pro Snowboarder and National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Sports Ambassador Kevin Pearce, along with his brother and best friend David Pearce, will make a guest appearance at the 2010 New York City Buddy Walk on September 25, 2010.

The Buddy Walk, which was established in 1995 by the NDSS to celebrate October as Down Syndrome Awareness Month, works to promote acceptance and inclusion for people with Down syndrome.

Kevin and David Pearce will make an appearance at the N.Y.C. Buddy Walk

To kick off the festivities on Saturday, September 25, Kevin, David and the Pearce family will participate in the NDSS Annual Times Square Video presentation. Following the presentation, Kevin will address the walkers in Central Park in his own words about the importance of advocacy and what it means to him.

As a team captain for the walk, Kevin is looking to raise $10,000 this year for NDSS, with proceeds going to benefit local programs and the national advocacy efforts of the National Down Syndrome Society.

There are two options to show your support: Join Kevin’s team as a walker or by sponsoring Kevin’s effort in the walk. For more information about the walk or how to donate and sponsor Kevin, David and their team, please visit Kevin’s page at http://buddywalk.kintera.org/nyc/kevinpearce
