Now that snow is covering the mountain peaks and temperatures are dropping, Burton Snowboards and host resort LAAX are gearing up for the return of the 12th annual Burton European Open (BEO), taking place from January 8 – 15, 2011.
Over the years, the BEO has grown into Europe’s biggest on-snow event, showcasing the crème de la crème of international snowboarding and contributing to the progression of the sport with innovative slopestyle courses and a perfect superpipe. The BEO is also the premier breakthrough competition for upcoming riders, who often kick-start their snowboarding careers after excellent results in LAAX.
Snowboarders like Olympian Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) and Enni Rukajärvi (FIN) got their start at the BEO where top results gained them international attention in the early days of their careers. The BEO is the second event of the 2010-11 Burton Global Open Series and a 6Star TTR event where more than 400 riders – women, men and kids – have the chance to compete for prestigious titles, a piece of the $125,000 USD prize purse and key ranking points for both the TTR as well as the BGOS.
Mark the date in your calendar now, and make sure you join us in LAAX to witness one of snowboarding’s finest events.
