Powdr Corporation (Corp) has announced the promotion of Kevin Stickelman to president and general manager of Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort.

Stickelman has fifteen years’ experience in the snow sports industry, with the majority of this time spent in management positions at Mt. Bachelor in Oregon and Park City Mountain Resort in Utah, both owned and operated by Powdr Corp. Most recently, Stickelman was the Director of the Guest Experience at Mt. Bachelor, responsible for the resort’s food and beverage, snow sports school and child care, Nordic Center, retail and rental shops, and guest services departments. He will assume this new role immediately.

“Hiring and retaining the best people is critical to the success of our resorts,” said John Cumming, Chief Executive Officer of Powdr Corp. “One of the most effective ways we’ve found to accomplish this is by recognizing excellence and promoting from within. Kevin has been a high-achiever in leadership positions at two of our resorts and we are very fortunate to have him on our team. We have the utmost confidence in his ability to now help Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort continue its growth.”

Stickelman is charged with full operations responsibility at Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, including submission of the Resort’s master development plan to the US Forest Service. Upon acceptance of the master plan by the USFS, Stickelman will lead the implementation phases of the plan, including National Environmental Policy Act studies and approvals, followed by development of new resort facilities and amenities over the next five to ten years.

“I’m excited for this opportunity to lead Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort as we update and modernize to serve a growing population of local and regional skiers and riders,” said Stickelman.

Stickelman majored in engineering at Kansas State University and holds professional certifications from the United States Ski and Snowboard Association, Professional Ski Instructors of America, and National Ski Patrol. He has been an active supporter and board member of Oregon Adaptive Sports and the Crater Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Stickelman will be moving to Las Vegas along with his wife, Nancy, and their 5 month old daughter, Lucy, over the next several weeks.
