Salomon Freeski TV kicks off new season, exposes another side of Whistler’s Olympic scene

During the fall of each year, there are several signs that awaken us skiers to the coming of a new winter season. Besides trusty signals such as the kick off of Labor Day ski sales, ski and snowboard movie premieres, and watching the race for the first ski resort to open, there’s another tell-tale sign marking the prelude to winter – the day when Salomon Freeski TV launches a new season.

After teasing us last Monday with the release of the Season 4 trailer, Mike Douglas and the Salomon crew officially kicked off a new season today with an episode that explores the ‘underbelly’ of hosting an Olympics at your home ski resort. Douglas, who has regularly educated the masses with Freeski TV (only further living up to his nickname as The Godfather), sought to expose freeskiers to what its really like to live at a ski resort hosting the Winter Games.

The fresh perspective may disturb you as not only were there little to no crowds on the hill, but all the snow concerns seem to be propaganda generated by mainstream media. Don’t believe me?

Follow Mark Abma, Mike Douglas, and Chris Rubens as they show us the real deal of what it was like in Whistler this past Olympic season…
