For over 60 years, Warren Miller Entertainment (WME) has produced and showcased legendary ski movies that, for many, are the start of any good winter season. This year is no exception, with footage from Antarctica, Alaska, Norway, Canada and beyond featuring the world’s top athletes. With the Spyder team representing a majority of the skiing elite, it’s only fitting the iconic brand signed on for a two-year relationship with WME to showcase their talents in the company’s 61st and 62nd feature films.
For WME’s latest film entitled, “Wintervention,” Spyder athletes Chris Davenport (who also stars in “The Story”) and Stian Hagen headed up to Girdwood, Alaska for an epic trip to ski the steep and deep of the Chugach Mountains. The film crew followed their tracks as they documented the intense adventure.
Winter enthusiasts will soon be able to see this and other footage during a multi-city tour, kicking off in a matter of weeks. In fact, Spyder will be carting a trailer to the Colorado premieres along the 85-city tour, bringing athletes and prize giveaways to stoke the crowd. Filming is already underway for next year’s movie, as the WME crew recently documented Spyder athletes during their recent team photo shoot trip to Portillo, Chile featuring the skills of Davenport, Tommy Moe, Steven Nyman, Julia Mancuso, Daron Rahlves, Roz Groenewoud, Colby West, Jake Zamansky, and Jess McMillan.
