Ski Channel Chairman and CEO Steve Bellamy is set to appear on PBS Late Night’s “Tavis Smiley” tonight.
Known for his forward-thinking entrepreneurial spirit, Bellamy has enjoyed considerable success in sports and entertainment media. After founding The Tennis Channel, Bellamy sought to bring a similar network to his second favorite sport, skiing.
The Ski Channel, which launched on Christmas Day 2008, has since gone on to be found in 43 million homes on Comcast, DirecTV, Time Warner, and numerous other major cable and satellite providers.
Not content to conquer just one aspect of media, Bellamy is currently in the midst of his latest ski venture, The Ski Channel Film Tour. Headlining the tour is the full-length feature “The Story,” which delves deep into the lives of World Cup and X Games stars as you’ve never seen them before. “The Story” is set to premiere this Sunday, Oct. 24 at the world famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA, so you know Bellamy is sure to provide the inside scoop on the famous guests walking the “White Carpet” at the big show.
As an added bit of trivia, both Bellamy and Smiley are Univ. of Indiana alums, so maybe they’ll talk college hijinks? You won’t know unless you tune in!
“Tavis Smiley” is a national late-night talk show that airs weeknights on PBS that offers a unique hybrid of news, issues and entertainment, featuring interviews with politicians, entertainers, athletes, authors and other newsmakers. Tavis Smiley was recently named to TIME’s list of 100 “Most Influential People in the World.”
