Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort President Bob Bonar announced today that Dave Fields has been promoted to the role of Vice President of Resort Operations. Fields’ new position will provide greater oversight in the day-to-day operations of the resort and help focus Snowbird’s efforts on providing first-class customer service at all levels of the organization.
“In Dave’s 11 years at Snowbird, he’s shown tremendous leadership and an ability to work seamlessly with all of our various departments, our employees and our community,” Bonar said. “Snowbird is known for its terrain, snow and Tram. We are committed to adding outstanding customer service to that list and Dave is going to help us achieve that goal.”
During his tenure at Snowbird, Fields has risen from the position of Assistant Director of Public Relations to the Director of Marketing, Tickets and Entertainment and Special Events, departments he will continue to oversee as VP of Resort Operations. Fields grew up skiing neighboring Alta Ski Area, where his father was a ski instructor.
“It’s an honor to be given new responsibilities within a company with so many talented and dedicated people,” said Fields. “It’s a lucky person who finds a job they enjoy as much as I do mine.”
Offering the longest season in Utah, Snowbird is scheduled to open for the 2010-11 season Saturday, Nov. 20. Last winter Snowbird received more than 600 inches of snow for the third year in a row and offered skiing and riding until Father’s Day, June 20.
