Following the resounding success of ABC’s reality show, “Dancing With the Stars,” the network is adding a spin-off show that will ditch the ballet shoes in favor of some blades of glory – yes, ice skates. Looking to develop its own rabid following similar to DWTS, ABC is hoping that their latest reality show — “Skating With the Stars” will also become a smash television hit.

Six contestants have been selected including Mötley Crüe front man Vince Neil, actress Sean Young, “Real Housewives” star Bethenny Frankel, soap star Rebecca Budig, Disney star Brandon Mychal Smith, and 1998 Olympic Freestyle Moguls Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley.

SWTS will mirror the DWTS format, with three judges.

Practice has already been underway for two weeks, but details have been kept on lock until the series was formally announced last night during a preview at the end of last night’s DWTS episode.

While it’s still early, good money has to be on Moseley to walk away with this title. Besides obviously just being a winner throughout his life, his extensive skiing background is likely to assist his transition to spinning and twirling his way around the ice.

And it sounds like Jonny has already moved past basics such as figure 8′s, into more advanced maneuvers as he tweeted following the show’s announcement:

“Just left dancing w the stars set. I can now tell u wut I’ve been up (to) Pairs figure skating. Get ready 4 my sow cow on skating w the stars.”

To see how Moseley and the rest of the cast fare on the show, be sure to tune in Nov. 22 for the series premiere.
