U.S. Ski Team broadcast partner Universal Sports will carry Saturday’s naming of the 2011 U.S. Alpine Ski Team LIVE beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET on www.UniversalSports.com. The groundbreaking event, presented by Vail Resorts, features 2010 Olympic stars Lindsey Vonn, Bode Miller, Andrew Weibrecht and 2010 World Cup giant slalom champion Ted Ligety.

As part of the interactive program, fans are invited to go to the U.S. Ski Team or Vail Mountain Facebook pages and post a question to Lindsey, Bode, Andrew or Ted. One lucky winner’s question will be asked LIVE during the program. To make the contest even sweeter, the winner will also receive a free three-day pass to Vail and an Under Armour U.S. Ski Team base layer top.

“It’s so cool that Universal Sports is broadcasting this to our fans across the country,” said Vonn. “It’s going to be awesome to meet our fans, who live in and around Vail in person, but it’s also pretty amazing to be able to bring this unique event to everyone. Vail always puts on a great show, so be sure to tune in.”

The first-of-its-kind program will feature high energy action reels of U.S. Ski Team athletes mixed in with the LIVE naming of each athlete as they take to the stage in their new Spyder gear in Vail Square at Lionshead.

“We’ve never launched a season with something like this before,” said Ligety, the 2006 Olympic combined gold medalist “I have a ton of support from my hometown of Park City and it’s pretty cool that they can tune in to see the entire team, both men and women, represented in one place. Growing up in Park City inspired me to make it to this level and I think this event will inspire a lot of kids to do the same.”
