The man who prophesies the snow strings of Colorado weather, Joel Gratz, has posted the Snow Gods intent to slam Colorado with massive whiteness this weekend. You can check his full update here, a Big Lebowski themed report given to Joel straight from the supernatural.
The storm over the last week favored the northern half of the state with a few feet of snow. The upcoming storm will favor the southern half of the state with a few feet of snow, and then the northern half will get a little more action toward the middle of next week.
Persistent moist flow from the southwest and west-southwest should hit the San Juans hard (Silverton, Durango, Wolf Creek) and central mountains (Elk & Ruby range…for Aspen and Crested Butte) pretty darn hard as well. This is not to say areas to the north along I-70 will be skunked, but they will more likely see smaller amounts out of the first few days of the storm.
