People are amazing.  Even though they were given free skiing to be charitable, riders came through huge and brought food and toys so other people could benefit.

The people at a ski area in the Poconos are opening their hearts.  Big Boulder Ski Resort is the first ski slope in our area to open for the season. The slope is also giving back to the community.  Workers at Big Boulder in Lake Harmony spent Tuesday morning unloading up to 6,000 canned goods they collected Monday night.

A total of 700 skiers and snowboarders swished and carved down the mountain on opening day. In order to ski for free, each person was required to bring a toy for the “Toys for Tots” campaign or ten canned goods to be donated to the food pantry at Saint Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Along with the canned goods, more than 300 toys were donated.
