Located right in the middle of the state with amazing views and a brand new area opened up to ski, it’s looking good in Washington.
Paradise Basin, the expansion area that offers 500 more feet of vertical skiing at White Pass Ski Resort, will open to the public for the first time Saturday, resort officials announced Wednesday afternoon.
White Pass officials announced via Facebook and their website, www.skiwhitepass.com, the new area would be open Saturday. Kathleen Goyette, the resort’s marketing director, confirmed the news Thursday morning and said crews had been hard at work since the announcement to make last-minute preparations for the area to open.
“We finally have the snow we need,” Goyette said. “Our ski patrol is out this morning roping off areas that don’t have enough snow coverage, making sure trail signs read correctly and getting the area ready to go.”
