Powder alert: A few storms out there…

La Nina continues to stream moisture across the Northern Continent with this weeks alert being no exception where Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole will continue to get moderate snow through Friday. The heaviest dumpage will occur late today into Friday morning (7-12) making a chase to those areas a good bet. Strong winds will both enhance snowfall and perhaps cause some lift issues on the upper mountain. Both areas picked up around 6-8 inches yesterday so it should be double dippings for those that are already up there. The Lower Hobacks are open!  Colorado will see light snow confined to the Northern mountains later Friday into Saturday. Steamboat should pick up some freshies however below the warning criteria.
Change of pace?   Light to moderate snow is possible for the Southern and Central mountains of Colorado Sunday-Tuesday as a new front arrives that will finally kick up some action towards Monarch, Wolf Creek, Durango, and perhaps Aspen. Steady light snow should be falling across most of Colorado during this period.
Another significant storm might be on tap for next Wednesday or Thursday next week in the Rockies so stay tuned for the next update sometime next week.
