Chris Davenport brings his new movie Australis to Sun Valley

Smith Optics is pleased to offer another evening with one of its premier athletes.  For this edition the seriously bad ass Chris Davenport will be on hand to talk about his career and recent exploits.  You may know Chris from his days as one of MSP’s leading chargers or from his recent assaults including skiing all 54 of Colorado’s 14′ers in a single bound (the last person to check them all off took 20 years, Chris did it in one).  He is quickly becoming one of the world’s premier ski alpinists with a quiver of first ascents and descents as well as creative approaches to big lines under his belt.

Smith will be bringing Chris to town this next week to screen his latest project, “Astralis: An Antarctic Ski Odyssey” a documentary tracking his exploits south of the Antarctic Circle.  Chris has recently published a second book as well, “50 Classic Ski Descents of North America” which he will be signing and selling prior to Thursday night’s screening.
