BOLTON VALLEY, Vt. — Bolton Valley Resort, big mountain skiing and riding packed with value just 30 minutes from Burlington, will open for the season this Friday on the heels on what has been the snowiest week so far this winter. Cumulatively, the resort received more than three feet of snow since Sunday. Couple that with snowmaking efforts all week long and the resort is primed for one of its more epic openings in recent years.
“The recent snows is just icing on the cake for our opening this season,” said Josh Arneson, director of marketing at Bolton. “Our snowmakers have been making snow since last Friday so we were confident we would open this weekend. But the added snow will allow us to have even more trails open, giving our guests more value than ever early season. Plus with all the scrumptious events planned on Saturday and Sunday, it’s shaping up to be one of our best openings in a long time.”
The resort will open for the season this Friday, Dec. 10 with at least 12 trails and 3 lifts, beginning at 9 a.m. On Saturday, Vermont Cookie Love will offer cookie samples in Fireside Flatbread in the base lodge from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Cabot Cheese will also be on hand both in Fireside Flatbread and on snow handing out samples of their famous Vermont cheese as well.
On Sunday, the resort has partnered with Ski Vermont to host the Vermont Specialty Food Day from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Fireside Flatbread. Free samples from some of Vermont’s best food producers will be available including samples from Green Mountain Coffee, Cabot Cheddar, Westminster Crackers, Vermont Maple products, and more.
Early season lift tickets cost $39/adult and $29/juniors ages 7-17. Kids 6 and under ski or ride free.
