Jackson Hole announces packed holiday event schedule

 Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is ringing in the Holiday Season with its biggest calendar of holiday events ever. From Santa’s much-anticipated annual rappel out of the Aerial Tram to a night with the Utah Symphony Orchestra, Jackson Hole is closing down 2010 with a party.

When: Thursday 12/16. 7:30pm   Where: Walk Festival Hall

What: This joyful evening of music includes selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, Vaughan Williams’ Greensleeves,’ traditional Strauss waltzes, and much more. Tickets for ‘A Holiday Celebration with Utah Symphony’ are on sale now. Notes: Order online at www.gtmf.org or by phone (307) 733-1128. $25 Adults; $5 Students (ages 6 and up). Ornament Making Workshop

When: Friday 12/17. 4:00-5:30pm Where: The Alpenhof Bistro Fireplace

What: Kids ages (3 – 12) will have fun creating a tree ornament while enjoying hot cider and hot cocoa. This event is free and in collaboration with the Art Association. Winter Warmer Walk

When: Sunday 12/19. 3:30 – 6:30pm Where: Teton Village

What: Whether you need to finish last minute Christmas shopping, or warm up after a day on the slopes, join us at the Winter Warmer to taste delicious holiday drinks offered throughout the Village. All participating retail stores will be offering a gift with every purchase or a discount. A great way to close out the weekend!

A Winter’s Solstice Celebration

When: Tuesday 12/21. 5:00 -7:00pm Where: Village Commons, Saddlehorn Activity Center and Snake River Lodge and Spa

What: Join us to celebrate the solstice with a torchlight parade starting at the firepit at the Village Commons to the Bonfire at the Saddlehorn Activity Center. At 6:00pm the Fireside Bar at Snake River Lodge and Spa will host a talk by Dan Haworth of the JH Astronomy Club on the significance of the winter solstice. Restaurant Specials: The Fireside Bar will have JH Antipasto Platter, buffalo salami, cured elk loin, chef’s daily cheese, roasted garlic hummus with pita flatbread. The Alpenhof Bistro will offer special ‘Alpine Hors d’Oeuvres.’
