Fast moving storm dropped up to two feet of fresh, light powder on Squaw Valley USA Tuesday night, setting the stage for a classic ‘bluebird’ powder day and excellent conditions for the coming holiday weeks.

Squaw Valley received nearly two feet of fresh snow in the last 24 hours which made for phenomenal skiing and riding conditions today. Squaw Valley received 16-22″ of snow, the result of a low pressure system out of the Gulf of Alaska. Wednesday morning brought blue skies and two feet of fresh snow that covered all of Squaw Valley USA’s 4,000 acres.

The two feet bring Squaw Valley’s snowfall total to almost 14 feet for the 2010-11 winter season-and more snow is on the way! After a couple of bluebird days, the Tahoe region is likely to see several more feet of new snow to ring in the Holiday period.

This December, guests can celebrate the Holidays at Squaw Valley. Fireworks, Santa on skis, Christmas carolers and the Christmas Eve torchlight parade are just a few of the Holiday festivities at Squaw Valley USA. New this winter, Squaw Valley welcomes a host of new events for kids and families such as hot chocolate & s’mores snowtubing parties, a New Year’s Eve kids concert and a Christmas stocking scavenger hunt.
