Long known for offering professional coaching and instruction for skiers and riders of every level, Loon Mountain introduces several new camps and workshops this winter that will appeal to an even broader spectrum of snowsports enthusiasts’ interests and abilities.

The new Women’s Performance Camps are designed by women to cater to women who are comfortable on terrain ranging from Blue Square to Double Black Diamond.  These highly-focused, two-day sessions are geared toward identifying women’s strengths and challenges and helping them get to the next level.  Led by Terrie Ann Bennett, a PSIA Certified Professional Ski Instructor, USSA Level 3 Race Coach and an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, the two-day sessions include over 15 hours of coaching by top women coaches, video analysis, targeted core conditioning to help reach peak performance and an après ski get together.  These camps will be offered twice this winter: January 29-30 and February 26-27, 2011.  Each two-day session costs $200 and includes a two day lift ticket.

New Bump Workshops, offered every Saturday and Sunday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. based on conditions and availability of bumps, will be a great fit for skiers who dream of cutting a smooth line through the moguls. A Bump Workshop session costs $100 and participants must be comfortable on blue or black terrain and have a valid lift ticket or season pass.

New Big Mountain Adventure camps will be offered during vacation weeks for 12-17 year olds who are comfortable on all levels of terrain up to and including black terrain. Available December 26-January 2, January 15 and 16, and February 19-27 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., teens will have a blast exploring all the mountain has to offer, sharpening their skills and making new friends. Big Mountain Adventure camp sessions cost $130 per day and include coaching and lunch.  Participants will need a valid lift ticket or season pass.

Same camp, new name! The popular Burton Park and Pipe Progression Camp is back again this year with a name that better describes its focus. Offered from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Saturday, Sunday and daily during holiday periods, this camp is geared for snowboarders ages 10-17 who have the ability to comfortably link turns on blue terrain.  Each camp session costs $130 and includes coaching and lunch. Participants will need a valid lift ticket or season pass.
