Time to check in again with a powderchaser.  Click here to read the full report from my brotha over at powderchasers.com

Heavy Powder Alert!

The next 4 days are going to bring significant snow to many areas above 8,000 feet with up to 5-7 feet expected at the highest slopes of the Sierra!  The models are all pointing towards a series of systems that should produce 3-4 inch per hour snowfall, strong winds, very dense snow, and a significant bump in avalanche danger as the pattern is starting out cold (Dry snow Friday/Saturday) and gradually getting denser as the weekend progresses.  Hence the wording Heavy Powder alert as in Mega and Dense!

Heavy snow will fall in the Sierra starting today and continue through the weekend with the Wasatch getting dumped on primarily during the day on Saturday where 9-11 inches will fall  (MEDIUM DENSITY) especially in the Park City mountains, Brighton, Solitude, Snowbasin, where southerly flow is favored. Alta and Snowbird will see lesser amounts however still in the 6-10 inch range with the first wave.
