The weather is crazy on the west coast right now. Howling winds pushing up and over 100 miles an hour have been reported in the Tahoe area. Trees are falling down on cars, roads are closed and another storm system is poised to make a run at keeping people indoors for days.
At Sierra-at-Tahoe, 5 people were thrown from the West Bowl chairlift they were riding when high winds blew down a tree that hit the cable carrying the chairlifts. They shut down the resort at 11 a.m and will reopen today. None of the 5 people that were thrown no more than 15 feet off the chair were injured.
