U.S. Womens Ski Team racer Sarah Schleper took 8th place at the night slalom in Zagreb, Croatia today.

Marlies Schild won her fourth slalom title of the season.

Vonn recorded her third consecutive first-run DNF in a World Cup slalom. The three-time overall champion has only finished two of five slaloms this season, her best result coming with a sixth-place finish in Levi in mid-November. Her last slalom World Cup podium also came in Levi during the 2010 season with a second place finish.

Mancuso has only made one second run in a World Cup slalom thus far this season with a 21st-place finish in Courchevel, France two weeks ago.  She straddled a gate 8 seconds into her run in this event.

As for the overall lead, Maria Riesch is pulling away slightly with her great results in the slalom.  She has 833 points and Lindsey Vonn is second with 647.  It looks like it will be a 2 women battle with third place at a distant 483 points.
