Mike Douglas: Professional skier turned film maker

We all know that Mike Douglas is the Godfather of freeskiing.  What you may not know is that he is a talented film maker.  Mike started Switchback Entertainment a few years back and now he is producing content for Whistler Blackcomb and Salomon.  The Whistler shorts are new this year and they are fantastic.  The most recent project makes Whistler look like a miniature village and has been getting nothing but positive feedback and praise throughout the internet.  See video below.

As well as producing the very popular series Salomon Freeski TV, he is hands on with product developement.  Most of us know he was instrumental in the design for the new Salomon Rocker 2.  He is also working with them on a new helmet design and a goggle project.  A very creative guy who is interested in many things, producing content  was an easy transition from being a professional skier.

Mike actually made a ski movie in High School with a classmate in 8mm film and a cassette tape soundtrack.  After moving to Whistler he helped create mogul how to videos for the Japan and Korean markets.  He also had a hand in editing the 1080 Salomon ski video.

Today, Mike is a Jack of all trades where he edits, films, produces and stars in productions for his compay,  Switchback Entertainment.  His take on it is, “Why not do it all?’  Though he always wanted to ski, he is inspired to what can be done making movies.  The work he is doing now gives him the opportunity to tell different stories while keeping it interesting and fun.

All I have to say is keep up the good work, Mike.  We know you love your job and we love watching your creations.  Keep em coming!
