Powderchasers: Powder Alert Northwest 7 day forecast

Posted By: The Ski Channel on January 12, 2011 11:58 am

My good man at Powderchasers.com has another powder alert for all you powder hungry folks out there.  He puts out great reports on where you can expect to ski or ride some freshies.  Check out his website for the full scoop.

The Northwest will be under the brunt of a continuous stream of light to moderate snow for the next several days with rising snow levels and even rain at times at base elevations. This first and strongest batch of moisture over the Northwest will move into Montana, Northern Idaho, and the Tetons Wednesday afternoon bringing over a foot of fresh powder to many areas especially near Missoula, Whitefish, and Bozeman.   This storm will just graze the Tetons tonight as well as Northern Utah where light amounts are possible.  Wyoming might be your best pick for Friday!

The Chase:

Wednesday:            Crystal Mountain, Stevens Pass, Mount Baker -Wind holds? Wet PM

Thursday:                 Any of the Northern resorts of Montana (7-12 inches new)

Friday:                     Jackson Hole, Grant Targhee (5-9)- snow should continue into Saturday

Saturday/Sunday:   Northern Colorado (Vail, Steamboat) (4-9 inches)- several waves of energy making it

deeper as the weekend progresses especially by Monday. Several light to moderate powder days possible through Tuesday.
