A nearly day-long search at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort ended on Wednesday afternoon when the body of a missing Massachusetts man was found on upper Rendezvous Mountain.

The body of Zephyr Rapinchuk, 18, of Northampton, was discovered at approximately 1:30 p.m. in a tree island below Hanging Rock Traverse near Rendezvous Bowl, resort officials said in a statement.

Ski patrol determined Rapinchuk collided with a tree.

“He was a passionate skier,” Friesen said. “He loved to ski.”
