Jason Lamy Chappuis (FRA) leads after the jumping competition
SEEFELD (AUT), 15 January 2011 – With overall World Cup’s leader Mario Stecher (AUT) sidelined due to injury, Olympic Champion and overall World Cup titleholder Jason Lamy Chappuis (FRA) is leading in the DKB FIS Nordic Combined World Cup competition in Seefeld (AUT) today.
The Frenchman won the jumping portion with the new hill record of 113.0 m (139.5 points) in front of compatriot Maxime Laheurte (105.5 m/123.4 points) and Yoshito Watabe (JPN/103.5 m/122.4).
At the cross country competition, Lamy Chappuis will have an unbelievable 64 second advantage on Laheurte and will start 1:08 minutes ahead of Yoshito Watabe. Mikko Kokslien (NOR/8th) is 1:26 minutes behind, Magnus Moan (NOR/25th) is 1:53 minutes behind and Felix Gottwald (AUT/46th) has to make up 2:35 minutes.
“It was a great jump, and I had good conditions as well”, Jason Lamy Chappuis said. For him, it was the fifth jumping portion victory in this season (14th overall).
