Here’s another report from our man in the field with the lowdown on storm activity in the West.  Please visit for the entire entry.

The next cold storm is moving into Northern MT today and will drop south into Wyoming by 10pm tonight and the Wasatch by 7am on Tuesday.  Heavy snow will break out along the cold front for a 4-6 hour duration bringing between 7-10 inches to many areas especially the Northern Wasatch (Snowbasin), and near the ID/WY/MT border (Tetons in the 5-9 inch range).  Colorado will see snow break out during the day Wednesday and continue into Wednesday night making late in the day a better bet into Thursday morning.

The Chase:

Today!!   Vail or Breck for the highest terrain and drier snow

Wednesday:  Snowbasin, Alta, Snowbird, Jackson (All will have snow during the morning)

Wednesday PM:  Steamboat, Vail (Storm ski afternoon)

Thursday: Steamboat, Copper, Vail  (Blue Sky powder day)

Extended:  Several more waves of snow are expected by this weekend and into next week as the NW flow continues to ripple moisture every 24 to 48 hours into the West.
