SnowBomb.com, the world’s first online lift ticket distribution channel, has recently acquired LiftTickets.com LLC for an undisclosed amount. LiftTickets.com is the newest and most technologically advanced company to begin offering online lift tickets within the ski industry. “The acquisition of LiftTickets.com combines levels of technology that we’ve been interested in, and their system is second to none. Strategically this puts us at the front of the pack in terms of the products we have to offer our clients. It also improves our East Coast presence.” said Jim McAlpine, President and Founder of SnowBomb.

The announcement was made at the NSAA conference in Utah this week. “NSAA is the perfect venue to announce the news to our resort partners.” said McAlpine. “Distribution channels have been on all resort radars lately. We have the industry experience, the tools, and the technology to improve exposure and gain targeted marketing data.” He continued.

LiftTickets.com was launched only 2 months ago but already has almost 30 resort partners and 30,000 Facebook fans. Mike Pollock, founder of LiftTickets.com was also pleased at this acquisition. “My goal for LiftTickets.com from the beginning was to build a site that would lead this category in the ski industry,” said Pollock. “I think putting our platform into the hands of McAlpine and his team is the best way to make that happen.”

With millions of dollars in ticket sales, SnowBomb is already a leading force in the online ticket segment. McAlpine notes it is important to understand SnowBomb is not just a “discounter” but a full service marketing partner to ski resorts. “The SnowBomb e-newsletter reaches about 100,000 opt in members. This acquisition will establish SnowBomb as one of the biggest ski resort marketers in the world.”

1. SnowBomb is the producer of the most popular and widely used membership based discount card in the US ski industry. In its 13th season, the Tahoe Card is now sold in over 50 Costco locations and has brought well over 1,000,000 (one million) skier visits to the Lake Tahoe region.

2. SnowBomb manages the biggest freestyle ski & snowboard series on the West Coast, The Sick and Twisted Freestyle Series presented by Under Armour. SnowBomb is also the promoter and title sponsor of the most revolutionary “ski shows” in the country, the “SnowBomb Ski/Wine/Board/Brew” Festivals.

3. The SnowBomb Ski & Snowboard Festivals have revolutionized consumer “ski shows” by setting a new standard of excellence. Started 3 years ago in San Francisco, the SnowBomb Festivals have exploded in popularity and expanded to San Jose/Silicon Valley and this year will debut a 3rd event in Sacramento, CA. Current plans include expansion to a 5 city tour.

4. SnowBomb created a ski industry specific ridesharing program with two grants from the state of California/Placer County. This system is currently used on over 10 California resort websites and taken over 10,000 cars off the road since 2009 saving resorts valuable parking space as well. SnowBomb has been in business since 1997 and the first company in the world to offer online lift tickets.
