Powderchasers: 7 day forecast for the West

Posted By: The Ski Channel on January 24, 2011 8:03 pm

This week will bring light snows (3-6 inches) to the Wasatch, Tetons, and Colorado Northern mountains on Tuesday/Wednesday and strong high pressure Thursday-Sunday and a warming trend. The most snow will fall in areas favored by NW flow such as Alta, Vail, Steamboat and along the I-70 corridor but certainly not amounts to warrant raising the powder alert.  Currently the models are showing a strong low pressure system moving into the Northwest on Sunday with a good chance of accumulating snows in the Rockies by Monday next week and colder temperatures.
