Yongpyong SBX World Cup Canceled

YONGPYONG, Korea (Feb. 7) – Challenging snow and course conditions forced cancelation of the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup snowboardcross event scheduled Monday in Korea. A date for the possible rescheduling of the Feb. 8 race has not yet been determined.

The U.S. had three riders, Alex Deibold (Manchester Center, VT), Jonathan Cheever (Saugus, MA) and Callan Chythlook-Sifsof (Girdwood, AK) on the start list, who will now return stateside for the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix at Canyons Resort in Park City, UT, Saturday Feb. 12.

Also heading to Utah for the event are two-time Olympic champion Seth Wescott (Sugarloaf, ME), Olympic silver medalist Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton, VT) and X Games champions Nate Holland (Squaw Valley, CA) and Nick Baumgartner (Iron River, MI) as well as several international teams.
