Nordic Combined Weekly Report

The start of the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships is only 2 weeks away! Please find below Nordic Combined News from around the world.

AUSTRIA
- World Championship’s squad: Felix Gottwald, Mario Stecher, David Kreiner, Bernhard Gruber, Wilhelm Denifl.
- Mario Stecher is not jumping yet after his mid-January’s injury.
- Felix Gottwald and David Kreiner will compete in the 28 km long Koasa Cross-Country race on Sunday.

GERMANY
- World Championship’s squad: Christian Beetz, Tino Edelmann, Eric Frenzel,
Björn Kircheisen, Johannes Rydzek

ITALY
- World Championship’s squad: Alessandro Pittin, Lukas Runggaldier and Armin Bauer and two athletes more.
- Runggaldier and Bauer did not take part due to minor injuries at the Italian Championships today.
- From 14th February, Team Italy will train on the Large Hill in Oberstdorf for two days.
JAPAN
- World Championship’s squad: Akito Watabe, Daito Takahashi, Taihei Kato, Norihito Kobayashi and Yusuke Minato
- From 12th to 14th February, the National Ski Games will be held in Kazuno City/Akita Prefecture. The Nordic Combined Competition is scheduled for 14th February. Every athlete will start for his home prefecture, Kato for Hokkaido, Watabe for Nagano, Takahashi, Kobayashi and Minato for Akita.

POLAND
- Until tomorrow, the competitions for Juniors calles “Ogòlnopolska Olimpiada Mlodziezy” are running.
- The team who was in Erzerum is preparing the COC in Szczyrk.
- All athletes will partecipate at the Polish Championships on 19th and 20th February.
- It is almost sure that Poland won’t have a team of four athletes but will start in the individual competitions with one to three athletes.

SWITZERLAND
- World Championship’s squad: Seppi Hurschler, Ronny Heer, Tim Hug, Tommy Schmid

USA
- Bryan Fletcher, Bill Demong and Taylor Fletcher got third, fifth and sixth place at the cross-country Boulder Mountain Tour.
