Taking a little time out from their busy schedule, US Snowboardcross athletes Jonathan Cheever (Park City, UT), Alex Deibold (Boulder, CO), and X Games gold medalist Nick Baumgartner (Iron River, MI) dropped in on Parley’s Elementary School in Park City.

After introducing themselves to their star struck audience, the athletes showed the group some clips from the recent X Games and then held a brief question and answer session.

The athletes are in town for the men’s and women’s U.S. Grand Prix SBX event at the Canyons Resort on Feb. 11-12. This is the last major competition before the final two World Cup races.

The kids also had a chance to run around with the athletes afterwards, playing games of basketball and knockout with some of SBX’s best. Cheever, Deibold, and Baumgartner ended their impromptu visit with a series of high-fives and autographs.

Canyons rider Cheever looks to take advantage of his home course, but fellow American Baumgartner will be tough to beat coming off of a gold medal in the X Games.
