After the pipe event went down at the Aspen Snowmass Open this weekend, everyone was invited to make their way to Bumps Lodge where a huge pile of sand from Costa Rica was constructed into a work of art by artists from all over the country.
Some 45 tons were imported for the inagural Sandy Pants Rail Jam and the skiers and riders hit rails and boxes constructed around the giant pile of sand – and even hit the sand for many of their tricks.
Below are the winners.
1st Place – John Kutcher – $500
2nd Place – Karl Fostvedt – $250
3rd Place – Maks Gorham – $150
Best Trick – Aaron Blunk for a switch lipside 270 off of the sand – $100
1st Place – Jack Kyle – $500
2nd Place – Colin Spencer – $250
3rd Place – Wes Walsh – $150
