Kutcher and Kyle take top spots in inagural Sandy Pants Rail Jam at Buttermilk

After the pipe event went down at the Aspen Snowmass Open this weekend, everyone was invited to make their way to Bumps Lodge where a huge pile of sand from Costa Rica was constructed into a work of art by artists from all over the country.

Some 45 tons were imported for the inagural Sandy Pants Rail Jam and the skiers and riders hit rails and boxes constructed around the giant pile of sand – and even hit the sand for many of their tricks.

 

Below are the winners.

Ski

1st PlaceJohn Kutcher – $500

2nd Place –  Karl Fostvedt – $250

3rd Place –  Maks Gorham – $150

Best Trick – Aaron Blunk for a switch lipside 270 off of the sand – $100

 

Snowboard

1st Place –  Jack Kyle –  $500

2nd Place – Colin Spencer – $250

3rd Place –  Wes Walsh – $150

Best Trick – Eric Angus for a front lipside 270 out – $100
