Western storm drops several feet on Mammoth Mountain

The massive storm that hit the upper Sierra Nevada region with 4-5 feet of 5% light and fluffy powder finally made it’s way to Mammoth Mountain.  The resort received 25″-35″ of snow overnight Thursday to bring the weekly snow total to 38″-55″.  That’s 4+ feet of freshies!  But that’s not all, the storm is expected to continue into Saturday and maybe even into Sunday.  So get you skis waxed and get ready to launch yourself into soft puffy landings.  It’s on like you read about!!!!

Mammoth’s base is still plenty solid at around 11 to 16 feet so skiing well into the spring can be expected.

This weekend at Mammoth you can catch The Luca Band, an all-girl rock band from LA at the The Yodler Saturday and Sunday 3pm-6pm.  They play a version of  “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” that would make Lucifer give up his fiddle on the first note. And they’re a lot easier to look at than The Charlie Daniels Band…
