Get ready to light up your lighters and don the red, yellow, black and green.  An incredible event that delivers shameless outdoor fun over a weekend of skiing and snowboarding events, live music and spring sunshine at the base of the Tetons is back.  Headlining this year’s event are reggae stars Katchafire, in a FREE concert at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Saturday March 26, 2011.

As in previous years, the weekend has lots of events for everybody. The classic Pole, Pedal Paddle, now in its 36th year will be held on Sat. March 26th.  The Marmot Coombs Classic which began last year and attracted hundreds of participants honoring legendary skier Doug Coombs is open to all on Sunday. Don’t miss après concerts under the tram, raffles, parties and more.

Katchafire began as a Bob Marley tribute band, the members quickly began writing their own material, drawing deeply upon early ska and reggae and giving it a breezy, modern flair. Within a few years the band became one of New Zealand’s biggest acts, going from playing tiny nightclubs to large venues in short order. They have toured extensively in the U.S. but this will be their first show in our region.

“Katchafire will no doubt attract thousands of reggae lovers looking to enjoy live music in the heart of these awe inspiring mountains.””  Commented Anna Olson, Brand Director, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
