First Ascent team members and guides Zack and Reggie Crist, Lynsey Dyer and Kent McBride take you for a trip to the backcountry at Jackson Hole Resort. Watch as they talk about moutain safety, skiing out of bounds and the passion for the outdoors they all enjoy.
Reggie Crist became the first repeat Skiercross champion at the X Games. He then moved to the big mountains of Alaska and heli-skiing. Reggie and his brother, fellow First Ascent guide Zach Crist, have been featured in The Story by The Ski Channel and several Warren Miller films (including the 2010 release, Dynasty). When he’s not skiing, Reggie can be found charging rivers in his kayak, or chasing surf in Hawaii or Mexico.
Zach Crist won three medals in the X Games before retiring from competitive skiing to focus entirely on backcountry guiding and also produce adventure documentaries with his brother and their own company, Equator Productions.
Lynsey Dyer is a renowned female American freeskier and Big Mountain skier. She has been honored with Female Skier of the Year by Powder Magazine and Lynsey is an accomplished graphic artist, founder of SheJumps.org, a non-profit that inspires women to get involved in sports.
Kent McBride has traveled the world as a climber and skier. In 2005, he climbed the central summit of Shishapangma (26,289 ft.) in Tibet without bottled oxygen and then made the first ski descent of its Untsch Couloir. He’s also an accomplished rock climber. Kent has spent the last 15 seasons as a guide in Alaska’s heli-skiing areas.
