Skiing or snowboarding at Aspen/Snowmass right now is filled with sunny days and powdery snow. The Colorado Freeride Championships are this weekend, Mardi Gras is getting close and the huge 11th annual Bud Light Spring Jam rocks out in March.
Colorado Freeride Championships – February 25-27, 2011
The Colorado Freeride Championships is a big mountain competition featuring some of the world’s best men and women skiers and snowboarders. Some of the biggest names in the industry come out to play on the cliff-littered terrain of Snowmass, creating an amazing show for spectators. The expert-only terrain requires cutting-edge skills from the over 100 participating athletes who continue to push the boundaries of their sport. The Colorado Freeride Championship is an IFSA sanctioned event. Spectators can watch the qualifying day of action from the base of the Hanging Valley Headwall and catch the finals on the Burnside Cliffs from the deck of Gwyn’s High Alpine. photo: Jeremy Swanson
Bud Light Spring Jam
The 11th Annual Bud Light Spring Jam will be held March 18-20 and March 25-27. The event will bring two weekends of competitions and downtown concerts and parties to Aspen/Snowmass. The festival kicks off on March 18 with the Core Party concert in downtown Aspen and continues the next day at the 3rd annual Fallen Friends Memorial Event and the 12th annual KickAspen Big Air.
