Free concerts and plenty of events at Aspen Snowmass this spring

Gearing up for spring, Aspen Snowmass has a full lineup of free concerts this March including Broken Social Scene, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and Pepper.  In addition to these bands, the Bud Light Spring Jam, March 18-20 will have concerts, on mountain competitions and plenty of parties at the resort area.

Broken Social Scene will bring their indie rock sounds to downtown Aspen at the corner of Cooper Avenue and Galena Street Friday, March 18 for Core Party, kicking off the 11th Annual Bud Light Spring Jam. The Canadian group’s latest album Forgiveness Rock Record has been nominated for Alternative Artist of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year for this year’s Juno Awards. For you thirsty folks out there, the Bud Light Beer garden will be offering $3 Bud and Bud Lights & $4 Stella Artois for this cornerstone Spring Jam kick-off party.

Ivan Neville will be bringing the funk to Snowmass all the way from New Orleans at the Snowmass base village on March 2oth at 4 p.m. for the fourth Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series of the season. Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk is a group of musicologists that transcend age and styles in a free-flowing approach to their art. Dumpstaphunk weaves a vocal and musical tapestry from key members of Dave Matthews & Friends, Trey Anastasio, Jewel and the Neville musical families.  You can hear the bands latest jams here,

Sneaky’s Tavern will be offering a $2 Bud Light special, $6 Bloody Marys, $6 Mimosas and $20 Mimosa pitchers.

PEPPER, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Kaleo Wassman, bassist/vocalist Bret Bollinger and drummer Yesod Williams, will be closing out this year’s Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series on March 25 at the base of Aspen Mountain at 8 p.m.  Formed in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1997, PEPPER, is known to mix their rock “shock and ah” flare, along with their mellow island rhythm roots to create their own truly diverse sound. The Bud Light beer garden will be open during the concert and additional specials will be offered at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola.

11th Annual Bud Light Spring Jam – March 18-20 and March 25-27, 2011

The 11th annual Bud Light Spring Jam, the premier spring festival in the Rocky Mountains, will bring two weekends of competitions, downtown concerts and parties to Aspen/Snowmass. In addition to all of the free music, events include KickAspen Big Air, Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls, Terrain Park Boot Camp and the Fallen Friends Memorial.
