VAIL, CO — All ages are invited to come and enjoy one of the highlights of the Vail Cascade SpringFest season: a return performance by the legendary “Vail Precision Lawn Chair Drill Team” on March 7 at 5:30 p.m. Designed as a lighthearted spectacle of men who march in formation with lawn chairs for laughs (and beer), the VPLCDT will emerge from semi-hibernation in all their hilarious splendor to perform at the Vail Cascade Resort. Last year, the crowd that witnessed the drill team’s performance were treated to members of the team performing signature moves that were once featured during the team’s visit to the White House in 2001.
Originally created in 1984 in Vail, Colorado by a group of self professed ski bums to “meet women and get free beer,” the team now relates that their current motivation for performing is to “get free beer and share it with their wives.” Continuing that tradition, the team will circulate during an après performance reception in the Fireside Bar, sharing tales of the early days of Vail and the VPLCDT. The public is invited to witness this part of Vail’s most legendary and lighthearted side of history and partake in libations afterwards at the Vail Cascade on March 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the front entrance of the Vail Cascade Resort.
