PARK CITY, UTAH – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding, has named leading lodging provider Marriott International, as its Official Hotel and Lodging Partner. As a part of the partnership, its iconic brand, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, will be prominently featured with logoing on the competition uniforms of U.S. Ski Team athletes in alpine, freestyle and nordic sports programs.
In addition, USSA clubs, skiers, snowboarders and winter sports fans alike will be able to participate in the partnership through a variety of programs. Members of the USSA’s more than 425 local grassroots clubs nationwide will be able to take advantage of special offers, while Marriott guests will be able to connect through a variety of promotional programs with Marriott and the USSA.
Marriott International features more than 3,500 properties in 70 countries and territories. Participating brands include JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels, Autograph Collection, Courtyard by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Residence Inn by Marriott and TownePlace Suites by Marriott.
Through its diverse family of brands, Marriott properties are strategically located at or near ski areas coast-to-coast. Marriott’s international presence will also be a vital asset to the Team, which travels hundreds of thousands of miles a year across five continents.
“Marriott is very proud to partner with and support the USSA and its many stellar athletes,” said Joanna Todd, vice president of global partnerships and promotions for Marriott International. “We look forward to cultivating a strong relationship with the organization providing top notch accommodations and the high level of customer service for which we’re known to skiers and snowboarders around the world.”
Marriott properties will also serve as headquarters hotels at major USSA events. Some of Marriott’s top city properties will become the home for the Team’s series of fundraising events each fall.
“Marriott is a best in class global brand that is joining a growing family of partners in leveraging the vibrant lifestyle of our ski and snowboarding sports,” said the USSA’s Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Andrew Judelson. “Travel is a major element of skiing and snowboarding. Through its partnership, Marriott will be able to reach and impact the 16 million American active sport participants who travel frequently.”
Marriott joins a number of other USSA partners who are actively engaged in ski and snowboarding travel including Delta Air Lines, Visa and more.
