Stowe’s Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center: Upcoming Events

STOWE, VT – Stowe Mountain Resort’s new Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center presents three premier events coming over the course of the next week. The Vermont Army Band in a free concert March 10, MacHomer on March 11, 12 and Einstein: The Practical Bohemian on March 14. Tickets available online at www.sprucepeakarts.org

Vermont Army Band at 7pm, March 10 – In 2007, the band celebrated its 60th anniversary. In the past two years alone, the 40th Army Band has traveled the state to complete over 100 public performances and over 40 troop support ceremonies. The 37-piece band, “Vermont’s Own,” has treated Vermonters to parades, concerts, jazz, school workshops and military ceremonies from Bennington to Grand Isle. MacHomer starring Rick Miller at 8pm, March 11 & 12 – This one-man vocal spectacular features impressions of over 50 voices from TV’s The Simpsons in a hilarious performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Rick Miller has performed MacHomer to capacity crowds across the U.S. and Canada. The show has also toured the world to rave reviews and awards in Scotland, England, Australia, and New Zealand.

Einstein: The Practical Bohemian at 7pm, March 14 – a stage play that is the only show officially endorsed by the Einstein Family. A quote from Albert Einstein’s first cousin said that the family “felt as though they were in the presence of their dear cousin Albert.” The one-man show opened in 1978 written and performed by actor-writer Ed Metzger in Los Angeles, California.
