Whitefish Mountain Resort and the Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation have agreed to a new arrangement where operations and finances of the Alpine Race Team Program will be transferred to management under the foundation beginning next season. With the resort’s continued support of on hill resources, the foundation is committed to providing a high level coaching staff dedicated to competitive alpine race training to benefit the ski racing youth of the Flathead Valley.

Quoting a statement released by the Ski Foundation Board: “The Ski Education Foundation is excited about focusing our energy on providing a high level alpine racing program for all levels and ages of ski racing youth in the Flathead Valley. At the same time, we are very appreciative of the support from Whitefish Mountain Resort both past and future.”

The foundation board is currently working with its members and interested parties on plans for an outstanding race program for next season.

“We want this new plan to work because in the end it’s all about the kids,” stated resort president and CEO Dan Graves. “We believe the foundation has the passion to take this to the next level.”

Whitefish Mountain Resort will continue to contribute all equipment and supplies currently used by the race team and they will continue to provide office space and season passes for the coaches as well as training space in the hill. The freestyle program will continue to operate as it has in the past.
