The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation (HSSF) will host a 25th Anniversary Gala on Friday, March 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Heavenly’s California Lodge in South Lake Tahoe, Calif. The non-profit organization encourages youth to participate in winter sports by providing scholarships for  the local race program. The organization also hosts the non-race Blue Angels program through the middle school and collaborates with the Snowboard Outreach Society (SOS) and the Boys and Girls Club of South Lake Tahoe.

“This is truly something to celebrate, 25 years as a non-profit that helps kids ski and snowboard,” said Jim Plake, board president  of the  foundation. “We’ve had thousands of athletes go through our program and we’re excited to catch up with all of the alumni. It’s going to be a really fun party.”

The event will feature a fundraising silent auction that will include a 2011-12 trip to Keystone Resort in Colorado, a Heavenly private-lesson package with a top instructor for six with lunch, a 2011-12 California Lodge parking pass, a week at a South Carolina vacation home, and whitewater raft trips.

Advance tickets for $40 may be purchased by contacting HSSF Director Aimi Xistra-Rich by phone at 530-314-9285 or by e-mail at aimix@heavenlyfoundationteam.org. Although tickets will also be available at the door of the event for $45, advance purchase is recommended due to  a limited capacity for the function.
