The National Ski Patrol has renewed its collaboration with Philips Healthcare to offer patrollers access to automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Philips is a global leader in defibrillation technology, and shares with NSP its mission of helping to save lives. All patrols and ski resorts are equipped with AEDs to help treat cardiac emergencies.

“Philips Healthcare is pleased to continue working with NSP and make AEDs available to ski patrollers across the country. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anytime, anywhere, and together we help save people’s lives,” said Craig Peterson, marketing director, Philips Healthcare.

Philips focuses on fundamental health problems, such as congestive heart failure, lung and breast cancer, and coronary artery disease. The company makes products that help with screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Philips manufactures a variety of easy-to-use HeartStart defibrillators that can be used in both home and professional situations to help save lives.

“NSP is proud to continue its association with Philips Healthcare, a company that shares our mission,” said NSP Executive Director Tim White. “NSP-trained patrollers are credited with saving an average of 40 lives each year, and Philips Healthcare products are reliable, state-of-the-art, and used by many health care professionals.”
