Deer Valley goes paradise

Spring is here and conditions could not be better at Deer Valley Resort in Utah.  Some say it’s just like paradise.  If you consider snorkle depth snowpack, amazing accomodations, breathtaking views, perfectly groomed runs, powder stashes in the trees and insane bluebird skies after a series of storms paradise, then it certainly is.  With 100 of 100 runs open, 21 of 21 lifts open and 7 of 7 bowls open, the spring crowds have been treated to perfect conditions and fantastic skiing.  With 12 days left in the season and a 121″ base, there has never been a better time to experience this gem of Utah.

According to Bob Wheaton, Resort President and General Manager, “We have had a couple of weeks of incredible snow.  We have gotten about 10 inches a day for many days in a row.  But now we just have bluebird days, a huge base and powder stashes all over the place.”  Click here to hear where Mr. Wheaton’s favorite stash is.

Some of those stashes are certainly in the amazing tree skiing at Deer Valley.  Trust me, the locals can attest to how good it is. “Deer Valley’s tree skiing is some of the best in the world.  Perfectly spread out with steep pitches make it one of my favorite places.  I also like it because you can usually find plenty of freshies left over after a storm.” says local Tyler Sterling.

With another year of ‘The Greatest Snow on Earth’ dellivering once again, “This has been an amazing year at Deer Valley.  We are up double digits over last year which was up a good margin from the year before.” added Mr. Wheaton.  “I love skiing Deer Valley at this time of the year.  The resort has just the right amount amount of people, the snow is amazing and the sun is shining.”  “One of the things I find amazing about Deer Valley is the people who ski there,” said Steve Bellamy (our CEO.)  “There are so many skiers and riders from the US Ski Team who are there.  You think of Deer Valley as quality, quality, quality with the best blue groomers in the world.  The not to talked about truth is that there is great challenging terrain at that mountain.  You could literally see 5 to 10 US Ski/Snowboard riders there on any given day.  Plus they are the only resort I know that has a dedicated Vegan Bar in the lodge.”

When the sun is shining there are plenty of places to Apres ski when you are ready to call it a day.  If your looking for award winning cuisine, hors d’oeuvres or an outdoor terrace with stunning views to wind down with a beverage, The Royal Street Cafe, The Snow Park Lounge and APEX American Grill have you covered.  Click here for an insiders tip!

The accolades keep piling up as well.  Not only are they rated the #1 resort on The Ski Channel’s Resort Rater, Deer Valley’s Snow Park restaurant was just awarded the #1 on-mountain restaurant to eat at in all of ski country by SKI Magazine.  Located at the Snow Park Lodge, this is no cafeteria.  A made to order breakfast, house special enchiladas or their famous turkey chili are just a couple of items that complete a truely incredible menu.

Get pampered, ski amazing terrain with perfect snow conditions and book a trip to Deer Valley today.  You deserve it.  Not one thin dime has come to The Ski Channel for singing the praise of this resort.  They just do things so well, have such a great physical plant and are so blessed right now with weather – they get the high 5.
