Roughly 6,000 spectators in Are, Sweden spent Easter weekend at the Jon Olsson Invitational. A great event with a big air comp and even a dual slalom race. In the end, it all came down to having another reason to throw a sick party….. The big air portion of the Jon Olsson invitational wrapped up with Elias Ambuhl tripling up on his way to the crown, triple cork 1440′s that is. Andreas Håtveit took third with a double cork 10 and third place went to Ole Christian Musad who stomped his double cork 12. Props to X Games dominator, Alex Schlopy, who went off the charts trying to land a triple cork 1980. Incredible where the sport is going. Even Mr. Olsson was humbled at the energy, amplitude and style the competitors where illustrating. Jon said, “Thank you, Elias for creating history with triples along with Russ and all the other crazy people. And i’m going to try to negotiate with God for more energy for next year.”
Team Sweden took the dual slalom. Check out the video and enjoy….
