Lake Tahoe, CA – After its very successful inaugural season of heliskiing in Lake Tahoe, HeliTahoe announced that it plans to expand its summer operations to include scenic tours based out of the Truckee Tahoe Airport to complement its longstanding operations out of the South Lake Tahoe Airport. The company’s partnership with Pacific Crest Heli-Guides will allow for a number of new helicopter-accessed adventures originating out of both airports during the upcoming summer season such as guided hikes, guided fishing expeditions, and mountaintop wine tasting permitting guests to quickly reach remote locations and enjoy a crowd-free experience.

“Long popular in places such as Alaska and Hawaii, our goal is to capitalize on the truly euphoric experience felt while riding in a helicopter to showcase Lake Tahoe in a low-impact, high-adrenaline manner that provides guests visiting the region with a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable adventure,” said Dave Rintala, owner/operator of HeliTahoe and Pacific Crest Heli-Guides. “The unique perspective afforded from the air allows the lake and surrounding mountains to show off their grand scale, mesmerizing colors and incomparable beauty like no other tour in Lake Tahoe.”

In addition to expanding its service area, HeliTahoe has added a number of new scenic tour options to its already impressive list of stunning Lake Tahoe locations such as Emerald Bay, Zephyr Cove and Sand Harbor, currently touted as Top-Rated Tours by TripAdvisor. New this season, HeliTahoe plans to offer a Lake Tahoe Waterfall Tour to take advantage of the record-breaking snowpack and extended run-off season as well as a Doors Off Tour to provide for even more of an adrenaline rush and a convertible-like ride. HeliTahoe has also announced it will be providing complimentary shuttle service from select casino resort and hotel properties to the airports on both shores of Lake Tahoe.

Thanks to its recently upgraded FAA certification and an expanded helicopter fleet, HeliTahoe will also be offering charter helicopter services including shuttles across Lake Tahoe itself, roundtrip service to regional airports such as the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and the Sacramento International Airport as well as service to private landing zones if interest exists. The company is also looking into potential partnerships with other tour operators to provide customized itineraries to nearby California landmarks such as Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite National Park and Napa Valley.

The addition of an A-Star to its fleet has also allowed HeliTahoe to expand its current aerial photography and surveying services. HeliTahoe’s pilots have a wealth of experience in working with the best photographers and videographers in the business to capture compelling footage and powerful imagery. The company’s entire fleet of helicopters can be fitted to employ the latest in remote-controlled cameras including state-of-the-art CinePlex systems. HeliTahoe also plans to grow its contract services to include external load capabilities in the near future.

HeliTahoe is also home to the highest altitude helicopter flight instruction school in the United States allowing students to log much sought after mountain time on every flight. The school offers customized instruction by some of the most experienced pilots in the industry specializing in private licensing, commercial licensing, instrument training, certified flight instructor training, certified flight instrument instructor training and high altitude certification. For a taste of what it feels like to fly your own helicopter, HeliTahoe offers Demo Flights during which potential students can actually take over the controls while flying over Emerald Bay, one of the most photographed locations in all the world.
