Arnold Schwarzenegger in Mammoth

Former California Governor and skier Arnold Schwarzenegger was at Mammoth Mountain this past weekend helping to host the San Diego After-School All-Stars (ASAS) chapter’s skiing fundraiser.  Schwarzenegger who founded ASAS in 1990, served as a special guest to the event.

Mammoth welcomed both students and fundraising participants who had a series of outstanding events that included an all weekend ski/snowboarding bonanza with the ability to take lessons from Mammoth CEO Rusty Gregory and lunch and or skiing with Schwarzenegger. Besides hitting the mountain on the slopes, there was also a career panel with Mammoth employees and depending on the level of sponsorship, a press conference with the Terminator himself!

Schwarzenegger has been an avid skier for many years.  I mean, he’s Austrian so it goes with the territory!  He is a big fan of Mammoth and is extremely passionate getting students to the mountain, many of which have never seen snow.

Powder Magazine caught up with Schwarzenegger at the event.  Check out their video featured below:
