It was just announced that one of The New York Times critic choice artists Alejandro Escovedo, has been added to The Canyons Summer Concert Series. Alejandro, who is described as ”a folk-blues classicist with a gritty, plaintive voice and an equal fondness for dirty boogie and spectral balladry,” will take the stage at The Canyons for the third Saturday of the Concert series on July 30. He joins the current series roaster with Anders Osborne, The Infamous Stringdusters, BoDeans and Jackie Greene who will be ending the series this summer.
Alejandro started developing his roots rock/alternative style after moving to Austin, Texas in the eighties. In 1997, he collaborated on several tracks for the Whiskeytown album, Strangers Almanac. Whiskeytown, the alternative country band which was founded in 1994, included heralding Gold famous frontman, Ryan Adams.
The Canyons Summer Concert Series is presented by Zions Bank and produced by Mountain Town Music. The series is FREE every Saturday starting July 16 and ending September 3. The FREE live music begins at 6:00pm and goes until 8:30pm. The Cabriolet and Frostwood lifts will be open Saturdays at 4:00pm.
